Utah CCW Continuing Education & Advanced Skills Phase 1: Legal Update & Fundamentals (4 Hours) Classroom Session: This intensive session focuses on the ever-evolving landscape of firearm laws in Utah. It is designed to bridge the gap between basic permit requirements and the realities of modern self-defense. * Utah Law Updates: Review of the latest legislative changes regarding "Permit-less Carry," sensitive locations, and reciprocity. * Justifiable Use of Force: A deep dive into U.C.A. 76-2-402, exploring the legal "red lines" of deadly force and the aftermath of a defensive encounter. * Civil Liability: Understanding how to protect yourself not just from criminal charges, but from life-altering civil litigation. * The "Everyday Carry" Mindset: Best practices for safe storage, holster/gear selection, and situational awareness. *Scenario-Based Training: interactive, live-action scenarios designed for you to test your gear, mindset, and willingness to confront hard things. Phase 2: Defensive Shooting & Proficiency (4 Hours) Range Session: Moving beyond the "familiarity" requirement, this live-fire course focuses on building muscle memory and accuracy under stress. * Fundamentals Under Pressure: Refining grip, stance, and sight alignment while introducing time constraints. * Draw and Presentation: Safe and efficient holster draws (OWB/IWB) and re-holstering techniques. * Malfunction Drills: Learning to clear Type 1, 2, and 3 malfunctions instinctively. * Defensive Accuracy: Practical drills including multiple target transitions and "center-mass" focus at varying distances (3 to 15 yards). * Standardized Proficiency Test: Concludes with a recognized course of fire to document your current skill level.
Cancellation Policy
All Participants need to have a UTAH Armed Security status or equivalent for their state.
